What Lies in Weight in The Biggest Loser Singles?
Date: Monday, 16 January 2012
Get the lowdown on what our 16 intrepid contestants have in store for them as they take on the biggest challenge of their lives.
The Challenge
A train pull, a stadium sprint, a mud pit tug of war – last season The Biggest Loser saw more epic team challenges than ever before. Expect more spectacular feats of physical and mental endurance in The Biggest Loser Singles, as the contestants are confronted with another series of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, which will take every ounce of their grit and determination to traverse. While we don’t want to ruin the surprise, you can expect nothing to be done by halves.
The Contest
As seen on The Biggest Loser Families, The Contest arena is an unforgiving battleground where only the strong survive. As representatives from each team fight it out over a series of rounds, The Contest sees just how far the contestants have come, and how much they’re willing to give to go further. The prize for the winner of The Contest is participation in competition-changing game of chance, The Walk.
The Walk
Returning to this year’s show is The Walk, which gives one contestant the ability to totally spin the game on its head. Selecting an option from a number of categories, the contestant in question then learns how they’re able to influence the competition. Anything can and does happen in The Walk, so expect the unexpected and remember that the results aren’t always welcome to all, meaning power players can quickly become targets.
Temptation
The Biggest Loser staple Temptation is back to test the resolve of the contestants to ‘just say no’ to the kind of calorific delights that have plagued them for too long. Temptation obviously wouldn’t be Temptation without some other sweetener making the food on offer look that little bit more inviting – will the teams be able to appreciate that short-term gain will only lead to long-term pain?
Elimination
There can only be one title winner, which means 15 contestants will fall by the wayside. As usual, teams will be fighting to stay above the dreaded yellow line; those below it by the end of the weigh-in will be forced to nominate a member to go up for elimination, with the other teams casting their votes to decide who’s safe, and who’s homeward bound.
