Week 1 at Camp Biggest Loser – and as predicted, the games have certainly begun! Love it! The first weigh-in is always impressive, with most of the contestants pulling some massive weight losses…
I remember always being the one to watch The Biggest Loser (normally while eating a hamburger) and thinking there is no way these contestants could possibly lose that much weight in one week! But let me tell you, having been there myself and having done the intense amount of training each day - every kilo lost on those scales is 100% real! With the Blue and White Teams falling below the Yellow Line, Hamish and Selena stepped up to take on the first Elimination. You could honestly cut the tension in the Elimination room with a knife.
I think Elimination is the WORST part of being on the show. It sucks. Massively. When Selena walked through the doors my heart seriously broke. When Hayley broke the news that no one had to leave if they didn’t want them to, I was silently confident they would both stay. After all – it is the first week – surely no one was going to Eliminate in the first week? WRONG. Margie stepped up to the chopping block and voted for Selena. Do I hold a grudge against Margie and Lydia? No... Do I think they have maybe dug themselves a hole quite early on? Maybe. It is a game after all, and I think quite early on we have all established some major players!
The Contest showed us some more major players with some seriously strong-minded competitors shining through. Shane pulled through in the end though, and managed to get back Selena in the game (YYAAAYYYYYY!!!) I can’t wait to see what the “Walk” throws at the game in the weeks to come. This leads us to… Temptation. I think by now they would surely understand that smashing themselves on the treadmill for 30 mins really isn’t worth those three Tim Tams. But – with money being the focus, Lisa ate a small chocolate to try and get herself the cash.
Lisa didn’t stand a chance though against James who sent himself into a small food coma by consuming close to 1000 calories to claim his golden prize. I wonder how long it will take him to burn that off! Things aren’t always what they seem though. Temptation turned around and bit James in the butt by giving him the option to take the money and leave, or stay in the game (and stay handcuffed to the briefcase) and get rewarded with Immunity (sounds VERY familiar again).
Poor James… not only did he get tricked by the game, he had to be handcuffed to the briefcase to constantly remind him of it! Not easy to train with a briefcase… or chase sheep for that matter! I enjoyed watching him try though.. Absolutely LOVED watching the Challenge this week. What a hoot! My person of the match goes to Margie for the hands on approach to sheep herding. She’s a crack up! Can’t wait to see who wins the Challenge and takes out the 2kg advantage. With the handling skills like Margies – my bet is on Red! What’s yours?
Till next week,
Lara xxx
