What a crazy week it's been at Camp Biggest Loser. The loss of sweetie Michelle, sickly sweet Temptation challenges and Margie is starting to grow on me. Say what?!
Gutted. Michelle has left Loser (can you tell she was one of my favs?) She is the kindest, sweetest and one of the most beautiful contestants that I have come across. This week started with the worst-case scenario with Margie and Michelle both falling below the yellow line. I know, I know, I normally bag Margie out, but I’m actually starting to think she’s okay… Yes she’s made some massive blunders throughout the game (many of which were quite nasty to other people). However, I have to say at this point in the game that I am really valuing her honesty and comical look at life. My boyfriend has been pro-Margie for a while now… and I think I’m ready to jump on the ‘Go Margie’ bandwagon too.
Back to elimination – I can kind of understand why Michelle dropped below this week, her binge certainly wouldn’t have helped (and perhaps having Hamish be her Trainer may have been another reason (kidding). Margie however, I don’t understand? That woman is a powerhouse and she trains like a mongrel…. Well – turns out it’s not just Michelle and Graham having a few secret snacks in the house.
Margie is our latest Biggest Loser victim struggling her with nutrition. But seriously, can you blame her? With all the contestants living off a regimented diet for so long, there has to come a time when a little is bound to happen. After all – I bet most of you know what it feels like to have a shitty day and come home to the embrace of a couple of rows of chocolate (or an entire block). With the pressure of constant game playing, these contestants will certainly have emotional days.. It’s really no surprise that a few of them have an occasional binge or a few slips in their diet, because let’s face it, they are human. I certainly don’t want to see Margie eat a Possum, Michelle – let the woman have a nectarine!
Following Michelle’s emotional farewell, the contestants were surprised with a heartwarming announcement of ‘Dreams Week’. I loved seeing all the contestant’s dreams come true, from surfing to horse riding. Can I just say – how ADORABLE did Graham look in his firefighters outfit?! What should no longer be a part of their health living vocabulary is participating in a Temptation involving cupcakes. Lydia went into Cupcake Heaven as she ate her way through eight, yes EIGHT cupcakes inducing a small food coma. Bek, Kasey, and Brenda also joined in cupcake overdose time as the biggest cupcake surprise went to Kasey… Lydia must be SPEWING (almost literally) as she has an injury that may hold her back and may prove difficult to burn off all those cupcakes. I do love Brenda’s comments to Kasey – it is a game after all! I did feel for Kasey getting the second degree about the situation, like it was indeed only Lydia’s Temptation.
With some hard-ass training sessions, a hard-ass fight with Mish and Margie and a hard-ass challenge to follow, these contestants are really starting to crack under the pressure. This is why the open water Challenge seem to rescue them all at just the perfect time. The contestants had to dig for a chest containing personal items and had to search for the right key to unlock their past. I cried as I watched Margie talk about her brother Matthew and as Bek read the letter from Dad. Just heart breaking isn’t it? Like many of us, some of these contestants are dealing with so much pain and hurt from their past, I am starting to understand just why they all turned to food for comfort. It will be really sad to see another contestant go this week – I am really starting to love all of them!
I’m off to Thailand with my lovely man now, but I’ll be sure to stay tuned in with the Loser goss and I will tell you all about my trip when I return!
Till next week,
Lara xxx
