I stood on the scales at 17 years old in early 2010, and it read 121kg. I was a size 22-24 and I was devastated. I didn't want to turn 18 and have to go out on the town dressed in frumpy plus-sized clothes, and I was so sick and tired of getting out of breath after a measly 4 or 5 stairs, so I decided to take the plunge. On the 31st of January 2010 I began eating three healthy, balanced meals a day, and started walking and being more active. I continued to do the same every day for about another 11 months, until I weighed 71kg. I have since maintained the same weight, and continue to make healthy lifestyle choices. I haven't touched any form of greasy take-away food, and haven't even had one piece of chocolate since. I am now a size 10, and feel the best I have ever felt. I lost my weight without having to go on a dangerous fad diet, and haven't stepped foot in a gym since I started losing weight. It is all about the confidence and self-belief to accept change into your life!
